First Announcement of Joint 5th Conference of IABG Asian Division and EABGN Meeting

Dear Colleagues and Friends

On behalf of East Asia Botanical Garden Network (EABGN) and Nanjing Botanical Garden Mem. Sun Yat-sen, Institute of Botany, Jiangsu Province and Chinese Academy of Sciences, it gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in the  Joint 5th Conference of IABG Asian Division and East Asia Botanical Gardens Network Conferences that will be held from 18 - 22 October 2014, Nanjing, China.

Under the theme “building Capacity for Biological Resources Service - The Role of Botanical Gardens”, the conference will address a wide spectrum of our concern including plant conservation, plant germplasm resources, plant introduction and domestication, botanical researches, botanical garden management and conducts of garden practices. This conference is also designed to provide a stimulating forum for our botanical garden community to address new emerging challenges and opportunities for sustainability and to share our knowledge, experience and practice in research, new technology and economy, and enhance our collaboration. The local organizing committee is being geared up an inspiring and informative program.

This is a particularly special occasion as Nanjing Botanical Garden Mem, Sun Yat-sen, also the first National botanical garden in China, celebrates its 85th anniversary in 2014. Also, there is a lot to see in Nanjing, the famous historic city with rich culture and long history. We will try our best to make your stay in Nanjing a memorable occasion and sincerely hope that you take every opportunity to enjoy all the Garden, the City could offer.
